Tricho-Cure
Soil borne pathogenic fungi are of major concern in agriculture which significantly decreases the plant yield. Chemical pesticides application causes environmental threats potentially dangerous to humans as well as ecological contamination. Thus, application of biological organism to plant disease control is more effective alternative technique. This study was carried out to isolate Trichoderma spp. from rhizospheric soil sample and to assess its in vitro biocontrol efficacy against fungal soil-borne pathogens.
Biocontrol efficacy testing of isolates against different fungal pathogens was performed by dual culture technique. Inhibition percentage of radial growth of fungal pathogen by the TrichoCure was found to be about 45- 55%. Mass production and formulation of TrichoCure done by using talc-based formulation and were tested on growth performance of Solanum lycoperscicum and Macrotyloma crop plants.
Therefore, it reduces growth, survival or infections caused by pathogens by different mechanisms like competition, antibiosis, mycoparasitism, hyphal interactions, and enzyme secretion. TrichoCure play an important role in controlling fungal plant pathogens, especially soil borne fungal pathogens.
The application of TRICHO- CURE onto the plants as it increases the plant growth. The use of TrichoCure is not only safe for the farmers and consumers but it is also good for the environment.
